Can math be funny?

This has got to be the silliest thing I have seen in a while. It gave me a chuckle.

Frances doesn't sound scary enough

I think this is NOT good news.

Iraq Coalition Casualties

I suppose this will factor into people's decisions. At least once we hit that magic 1000 number. I have heard a lot about that number. What is special about it? Noone should have died in Iraq as part of this crazy war, much less 1000 Americans. This 1000 number, of course, doesn't include the 65 Brits and 66 other "coallition" member countries' soldiers who have died or the over 6000 wounded and the tens of thousands of civilians killed or wounded, as well.

If we couldn't get more countries to actually send troops, I don't think we should have gone at all.

Electoral College projections

This election is driving me nuts. I think it should be a landslide, at least electorally, but web pages like Electoral College projections say there are way too many toss-up states and Electoral-Vote seems too "liberal" ;) with assigning states with really close polling numbers.

I just need these next two months to fly by already. Or at least this project to end.

Scope of blog

I have ignored my poor young blog for a while, so here is some blog TLC.

First off, I need to set the parameters of my blog. I plan to talk about mostly myself: my thoughts, my politics, my job and my plans for the future. Blogs are, after all, an experiment in reading your own thoughts and sometimes hearing others opinions on them.

My politics are liberal. (Yes! I said it!) The current election cycle is really on mind nowadays.

My job title is consultant. I travel the world and work with marketing software. For the most part, the whole "travel the world" thing has meant Mexico, specifically Toluca. Toluca is the capital of the state of Mexico, not be confused with the country or the city. The state of Mexico is just outside the Federal District of Mexico City. Toluca is about an hour away from the Mexico City airport. I am actually spending most of my time at an office building and a hotel near the airport of Toluca. I rarely go to the actual city of Toluca, which has some beautiful Spanish colonial architecture, by the way.

I hope to keep posting to my blog, often. We'll have to see.

Favorite Blog of the Moment: Eschaton

I highly recommend to visit Atrios's blog, Eschaton! It always has good up-to-the-second info on the latest maneuvering of the vast right-wing conspiracy. ;)
